Currently, Fitbit is only directing people to contact its customer service centres. Worse still, it seems that Fitbit has not commented on the issue yet and continues to distribute the update. In fact, the smartwatch cannot be repaired to a smartphone after performing the latter, effectively bricking it. ![]() Reportedly, restarting the Versa 2 does not resolve the issue, nor does a factory reset. Hence, it is impossible to get passed the lock screen on affected units, rendering them useless. Regardless, those that are affected exhibit a non-functional touchscreen or incorrect inputs. ![]() For reference, the bug does not appear to affect all Versa 2 units. However, several reports on the Fitbit Community suggest that Fitbit failed to spot a critical issue in the firmware update. Recently, Fitbit started rolling out v35.72.1.23 for the Versa 2, which the company hoped to resolve outstanding bugs.
